Biography / Suggested Repertoire
Mr. Job is a Southern California native who has established himself as an important talent in opera today. His interpretations of the operatic and concert repertoire have been highly praised, with the press describing him as "youthful, agile, handsome, and with the voice to match," with "commanding sonority," and "authoritative low notes." A Richard Tucker Foundation Career Grant nominee in 2008, he is the 2007 Winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in the North Dakota District, 2nd Place Winner for the Upper Midwest Region in 2008 and the Rocky Mountain Region in 2006, and is also the Grand Prize Winner of the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Competition of 2005.

Mr. Job proudly joins the Roster of The Metropolitan Opera beginning in the Fall of 2009.

He has to his credit numerous roles and appearances with such companies as Aspen Opera Theatre, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Chautauqua Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Minnesota Opera, Opera Colorado, Opera Omaha, Opera Pacific, and Opera Theatre of the Rockies, as well as numerous other opera and concert appearances in countries such as Italy, Israel, Austria, the UK, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil.

Recently he was seen as Cesare Angelotti in Tosca and Kilian in Der Freischutz with Des Moines Metro Opera. He recently returned from Europe where he made his Italian debut as Il Podesta in Rossini's La gazza ladra and then Sparafucile in Rigoletto, both with Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

Last summer, at Glimmerglass Opera, he was seen as Caronte in Monteverdi's L'Orfeo ed Euridice as well as the Poet in Philip Glass' Orphee. This summer he returns to Glimmerglass Opera as a guest artist to sing Capellio in Bellini's I Capuleti e i Montecchi. Mr. Job was a resident artist with the Minnesota Opera throughout their 2007-2008 Season, singing roles in Un ballo in maschera, Romeo et Juliette, and Keiser's Croesus, in its U.S. premiere.

With Opera Colorado, Mr. Job was seen as Count Ribbing in Un ballo in maschera, Sprecher/2nd Priest in Die Zauberflote, Dr. Dulcamara in L'elisir d'amore, Zuniga in Carmen, and Osmin in Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail. He created the role of General Godofredo de la Barca in the world premiere of La Curandera, an opera in one act by Xavier Rodriguez, commissioned by Opera Colorado. He was also seen as Ramfis in Aida and Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni with Opera Fort Collins.

He has performed on Broadway at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, where he was featured in two roles in My Fair Lady, sharing the stage with Kelsey Grammer and Brian Dennehy. Other concert appearances include: bass soloist in Haydn's Creation with the Greeley Philharmonic, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9
with the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven's Missa Solemnis with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, as well as bass soloist in Verdi's Requiem with the Denver Opera Company. He has also been soloist in Handel's Messiah with the Charleston Symphony and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.

Other roles to his credit, both nationally and internationally, include the title role in Handel's Giulio Cesare, Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro, Sarastro in Die Zauberflote, Mephistopheles in Gounod's Faust, The Bonze in Madama Butterfly, both Reverend Hale and Francis Nurse in The Crucible, Dr. Grenvil in La Traviata, Simone in Gianni Schicchi, Talpa in Il Tabarro, Grandpa Moss in Copland's The Tender Land, Alidoro in La Cenerentola, Seneca in L'incoronazione di Poppea, and the title role in Don Giovanni.
